Aim: To evaluate the microtensile bond strength of teeth restored with packable composite after removing caries with three chemomechanical caries removal agents (Carisolv, Papacarie and Carie-care) and also to analyze its effect on chemical composition of dentin using energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis.

An improved version of the chemomechanical system was Carisolv 1, introduced in 1997, by team Mediteam dental AB (Sweden),, which has now been improved and marketed as Carisolv 2,, consisting of two syringes, which are mixed before usage. Composition The formulation of Carisolv involves : Available as single mix or multi mix syringes Syringe one: Sodium hypochlorite (0.5%) Syringe two: Three amino acids (glutamic acid, leucine, lysine) Gel substance: Carboxymethylcellulose Adjunct: Sodium chloride/sodium hydroxide The gel is available in two different packages: The caries-disclosing dye based on a solution of 1 % acid-red in propylene glycol (Caries Detector, Kuraray, Tokyo, Japan) was used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The dentin, which was stained light pink in the cavity floor, was not removed in order to prevent excessive excavation. This website provides information about all manufacturing , marketing companies and their products, its compositions along with its dealers , retailers in India.

Carisolv consists of a red gel and transperant fluid. Carisolv (MediTeam, Göteborg, Sweden) is a viscous substance for the chemomechanical removal of caries. The solution consists of two liquids, which are mixed before application: Liquid 1 contains mainly three amino acids (leucine, lysine, and glutamic acid); liquid 2 is sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl). Carisolv removes necrotic, decayed, dentine and leaves healthy tooth structure unaffected. Carisolv is a chemo-mechanical method ideal for use on most types of carious lesion. The method is minimally invasive and affects only the carious part of the tooth. The trials included involved a total of 348 patients for 532 treated teeth.

The aim of this clinical study was to compare Carisolv with the conventional drilling technique. METHOD AND MATERIALS Forty-five volunteers, ages 18 to 55 years, each with two contralateral primary coronal mesio-occlusal or disto-occlusal carious lesions, similar in extent, participated in the study. Carisolv is able to soften the carious dentin, leaving healthy dentin intact. Carisolv treatment preserves the maximum amount of sound dentin and opens the surface of dentin. The rough surface produced is adequate for bonding of resins . Several studies of the effects of Carisolv have been performed, but few comparative works include Carisolv.
Besides 0.95 % NaOCl, Carisolv gel consists of water, three different amino acids (glutamic acid, leucine, and lysine), sodium chloride, and sodium hydroxide [ 29 ]. In contrast, Papacarie is NaOCl-free, and its collagenolytic effect is based on the papain enzyme, a cysteine protease [ 28 ]. Group 1-excavation with bur (10 teeth), and Group 2-excavation using Carisolv 2 (10 teeth).

Carisolv, whose main difference from previously released products was the presence of three aminoacids in their composition (leucine, lysine and glutamic acid), instead of only one, which produced a distinct effect onf the affected dentin. There was still the presence of sodium hypochlorite, but in the concentration of 0.95%. Sodium hypochlorite
